Budget Premium Subscription Terms
Last updated: 29 July 2026
Budget Premium unlocks Shared expenses, AI Charts, Voice Assistant, screenshot import, AI-generated category icons and automatic cloud sync. Manual budgeting, categories, spending limits, file import, export and the full Statistics dashboard are free and require no subscription.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are purchased and billed by Google Play. The price and billing period shown in the Google Play purchase dialog control the transaction. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Google Play before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future renewal but normally preserves access through the already-paid period.
Payment recovery, grace periods, account hold, refunds and purchase restoration are handled according to Google Play's subscription rules. Premium access may continue during a Google Play grace period and is suspended during account hold or after expiry.
Accounts and restoration
A Budget account is required to bind a subscription to cloud data and managed AI access. Restore purchases must be completed while signed in to the same Budget account that originally received the entitlement.
AI allowances
Managed AI is metered per day and refills at midnight UTC. Each subscriber receives up to 80 AI questions (AI Charts and Assistant combined), 20 screenshot imports, 30 spoken entries and 40 spoken replies per day, within an overall ceiling of 100 AI requests per day. Short bursts are also rate limited per minute. AI category icon creation has a separate allowance of 5 generated icons per UTC month and refills on the first day of the next month. These allowances are identical on the monthly and yearly plans, as is the monthly provider-cost ceiling that protects all managed AI features together. Reaching that shared cost ceiling can temporarily stop generation before the numerical allowance is used. Recording-length and image-size limits also apply.
Premium AI features are intended for ordinary personal budgeting. Automated, resold, abusive or unusually high-volume access is prohibited.
Ending Premium
When Premium ends, local budgeting features, the Statistics dashboard and local data remain available. Shared, cloud sync and managed AI features become locked. Cloud data is not represented as deleted merely because a subscription expires.
Deleting the Budget account is different from ending Premium: the deletion flow asks Google Play to cancel future renewal before removing the cloud account. It does not refund subscription payments already made. If Google Play cannot confirm cancellation, Budget leaves the account intact so deletion can be retried safely.
