Delete a Budget account and cloud data
Last updated: 29 July 2026
Delete from the app
- Open Budget and sign in to the account to delete.
- Open Settings → Account.
- Select Delete account and data.
- Read the effects shown by the app, confirm, and complete the recent sign-in check if requested.
Budget first asks Google Play to cancel future renewal for linked active subscriptions. Payments already made are not refunded. If Google Play cannot confirm cancellation or a required cloud service cannot confirm cleanup, the account is not reported as deleted and the user can retry.
Request deletion without the app
Send an email to hello.aisstudios@outlook.com from the email address used for the Budget account with the subject Delete my Budget account. Do not include transaction details, budget amounts, screenshots, voice recordings, passwords, purchase tokens, or other financial content.
Support will use the account email only to locate the Firebase Authentication account and to complete reasonable identity verification. Support must not ask for a password or a Google Play purchase token. Once verification is complete, the same backend deletion process used by the app must be invoked; manually deleting only the Authentication user is not sufficient.
Data deleted
The deletion process removes:
- the Firebase Authentication account;
- private cloud-sync records and migration metadata;
- the Shared profile, invitations, memberships, and notification token;
- Shared groups owned by the account;
- Google Play billing links and backend entitlement records;
- Firebase AI quota/rate-limit records; and
- Cloudflare pseudonymous AI quota, provider-cost, content-free diagnostic, and 30-day Assistant diagnostic records.
Data retained or anonymized
- Historical expenses in a Shared group owned by somebody else remain available to that group's participants, but the deleted identity is replaced by a non-identifying deleted-user label.
- A minimal deletion tombstone containing the Firebase account identifier, cleanup state, and timestamps is retained for no more than seven days to prevent old devices or delayed billing events from recreating deleted data.
- Content-free Cloudflare deletion blockers containing only an expiry remain for no more than seven days to prevent an already-running AI request from recreating deleted quota, cost, or diagnostic state.
- Local data on a device and files the user previously exported are not deleted by the cloud account action.
- Google Play, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, support, or other processors may retain records they independently require under their own terms or legal obligations.
Expected handling
AIS Studios monitors the public support mailbox and will acknowledge deletion requests as soon as reasonably possible. The time needed to finish a request can depend on identity verification and confirmation from the services involved.
The request is complete only after the backend confirms Cloudflare cleanup, Firebase cleanup, Authentication deletion, and any required Google Play renewal cancellation.
